Gold Hoop Earrings

Earrings are one of the earliest forms of body décor used by both men and women. Indeed, even the soldiers of the Persian Empire wore an earring. Today, the practice continues. Virtually all women, and an increasing number of men, wear earrings.

Over the years, plenty of designs and styles of earrings have evolved. There are stud, dangle, hugged, slave, ear thread, ear spikes, and hoop earrings. Of these, hoops are deemed most versatile as they can be worn on practically an occasion. They can be worn almost anywhere, whether you are having a formal dinner at the Waldorf, enjoying a cup of cappuccino at Starbucks, or munching on a burger at your neighborhood deli.

Hoop earrings are circular or semi-circular and are made of metal tubing. Some of these tubes are hollow, especially the bigger ones, but others are solid. A thin, curved pivoting wire is permanently attached to the tube, and is inserted into the front earlobe. At the back, it slips into the other end of the tube.

Hoop earrings could be large or small. There are also designs intended for men. And they could be made of different metals, and even with precious stones. Thus, we have silver, white gold, platinum, and gold hoop earrings. There are even those that are studded with diamonds. Some have pearls dangling from the hoops.
